Start With Intention

January has a way of pressuring us to move fast—to set big goals, make bold declarations, and fill our calendars before we’ve taken time to breathe. But the empowered woman understands that momentum without meaning leads to burnout. This season is not about rushing into everything; it’s about starting with intention.

Intention requires clarity. Before saying yes to new opportunities or responsibilities, pause and discern what truly aligns with your purpose. Ask yourself: What is the assignment on my life for this season—not for everyone else, but for me? This is the moment to quiet the noise, focus, and tune in to what God is saying.

Because of your gifts, talents, and skill set, many people will seek access to you. That is why intentionality is essential. Stay anchored in your purpose and passion. When your focus is clear, your energy is stewarded well, and your decisions are made with confidence and peace. And remember—it is okay to say no. Or, as my friend would say, to give your “anointed no.”

January invites us to define priorities, not pile on pressure. What is a priority and what are you doing just to please or satisfy others?  Progress doesn’t begin with doing more—it begins with knowing why you’re moving and where you’re called to go. When purpose leads, progress follows naturally.

As you step into this year, give yourself permission to move thoughtfully. Let intention guide your actions, alignment shape your choices, and purpose set the pace. This is how empowered women build lives—and legacies—with impact.

Reflection: What are you intentionally saying yes to this season—and what do I need to release in order to fully walk in alignment with my purpose?
